Couples therapy focuses on enhancing communication, building trust, and strengthening relationships. I provide a neutral and supportive environment for couples to address conflicts, improve intimacy, and foster a deeper connection.

About 

I come from a social services background with over seven years experience supporting individuals facing complex mental health challenges and homelessness. I have also worked across both adult and youth inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation settings. The greatest lesson I have learnt, is that no matter how we try, we cannot avoid pain and emotions. We are far better to learn how to befriend and honour our feelings. This is the beginning of healing.

I use a specific selection of traditional and contemporary psychodynamic techniques. This creates a tailored and client specific approach which allows for the most effective therapy to occur. Techniques I employ include CBT, EFT, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gottman Couples Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Two-Chair Work.

What type of therapies do you do?

Counselling and psychology are closely related fields that both support mental wellbeing. Counselling typically focuses on exploring the emotions and influencing factors contributing to a persons emotional and mental challenges. Psychology, deals more with assessment and diagnosis. Both help individuals develop coping strategies and improve daily functioning through supportive, goal-oriented work.
